HBO’s The Last of Us series has found its Riley. Per Deadline, Euphoria and A Wrinkle in Time star Storm Reid has been cast as Riley Abel, a character who’s best friends with Ellie in the time before she meets Joel in the original game. She was featured in the DLC The Last of Us: Left Behind, a bonus chapter released after the original game. For the series, Reid’s role will be as a guest star playing the orphaned girl who grew up in post-apocalyptic Boston.

The Last of Us is directly based on the video game of the same name by Naughty Dog. The new series comes from The Last of Us creator Neil Druckman and Chernobyl‘s Craig Mazin. Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) lead the cast as Joel and Ellie, the two main characters from the video games. Also featured in the cast of the HBO adaptation are Anna Torv, Nick Offerman, Nico Parker, Jeffrey Pierce, Murray Bartlett, and video game voice actress Merle Dandridge reprising the role she played in the game. Gabriel Luna is also featured in a substantial role as Tommy, Joel’s brother.

“Right now, my primary focus is The Last of Us. So excited to complete my work there on season 1 and then we’re going to have a really fun adventure there,” Luna said of his involvement, via “I look forward to everyone having an opportunity to check that out whenever it may come out. I’m not in the scheduling department, but it’d be sooner than later.”
