Super Pumped Trailer Shows Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Uber’s Shady CEO

Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s role as the cocky Uber CEO is explored in a new, chaotic teaser trailer for Showtime’s Super Pumped: Battle for Uber.

Another official teaser trailer for Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber has been released, revealing a peek into Joseph Gordon-Levitt portraying the cocky co-founder of Uber, Travis Kalanick. Based on a true story and directed by Allan Coulter, the series follows the rise of the upstart rideshare company and Kalanick’s involvement, exemplifying the highs and lows of Silicon Valley. Alongside Gordon-Levitt’s casting in the overconfident role, Kyle Chandler, Uma Thurman, and Elisabeth Shue also star in the upcoming Showtime limited series.

Now, Showtime has shared the newest official teaser trailer for Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber. With the legendary Pearl Jam’s hit song “Why Go” serving as the background music, the teaser introduces Kalanick as someone willing to overstep boundaries to achieve his goals for the company. The trailer also presents the first look at Thurman as the savvy entrepreneur, Arianna Huffington, and Chandler as the venture capitalist, Bill Gurley. In addition to exploring Kalanick’s reckless behavior and decision-making, Chandler’s character backs this by saying, “The best thing about Travis is that he is willing to run through walls to win.” Watch the full trailer below:

With the rise of Uber and its controversial workplace culture, the series will follow the lives of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and their capitalistic endeavors. As the trailer provides a small glimpse into the series, the feds are shown entering the workplace of the tech company. Knowing this, many can assume that the series will trail the scandals and Benchmark lawsuit, which ultimately led to Kalanick’s exit as part of the company’s board of directors and his eventual resignation. Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber premieres on Sunday, February 27 on Showtime.
