Pokémon Legends: Arceus – Rare Candy Farming Guide (& How to Use Them)

Pokémon Legends: Arceus players can use Rare Candy to evolve Pokémon, and this item is rewarded from quests and for sale at the Trading Post.

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will want to farm Rare Candy items as a fast way to level up their Pokémon. When players give a Rare Candy to a Pokémon in their party, that Pokémon will immediately go up a level. Rare Candy can be an efficient alternative to grinding battles to increase a Pokémon’s level as a late-game mechanic. Additionally, this can be useful in the early part of the game if players struggle with the boss Alpha or Noble Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Players can find Rare Candy items throughout the Hisui region by purchasing them and completing quests. Players will be able to purchase Rare Candy in Jubilife Village at the town’s Trading Post. Of note, the Trading Post will only accept Merit Points, so players may need to explore to find satchels containing Merit Points to purchase items from the shop. One Rare Candy is exchanged for 1,000 Merit Points, and each discovered satchel can contain up to 100 Merit Points. Once players have obtained a Rare Candy, they can feed it to a Pokémon of their choice from the items menu.

Completing quests is another way to progress the story and farm Rare Candy as rewards. For example, one of the earliest quests in the game is unlocked by speaking with Tsumugi in Jubilife Village and tasks players with finding the Bothersome Bidoofs in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Completing this task by finding all the Bidoofs in the village will earn players a Rare Candy.

Pokémon Legends Arceus Friendship Guide

The next quest that rewards a Rare Candy is ‘Measuring Your Compatibility,’ unlocked once players receive the mission ‘Arezu’s Predicament.’ Players should find and interact with the NPC Belamy near the Pastures to obtain the request. To complete the quest and earn the Rare Candy, all players need to do is have a high enough friendship level with a Pokémon in their party. Finally, the quest Balloon Race in the Fieldlands also grants players a Rare Candy. The quests unlocks once players build the Heights Camp and have access to Wyrdeer as a Pokémon mount in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. To complete this task, players will need to pop 17 balloons.

To earn a Rare Candy from the quest All about Magikarp, players will need to catch a Magikarp and find the little girl in the village named Ceci near the General Store. She will ask to see the player’s Pokédex entry for Magikarp and gift them a Rare Candy as a thank you. For the quest ‘At Home under the Eaves,’ players will need to catch a Chimecho to add it to their Pokédex and unlock Hisuain Braviary as a Pokémon mount. Players can then accept the request on the blackboard and search for the NPC Ida during the day to the East of the farm in Jubilife Village to complete the quest and earn a Rare Candy.

Additionally, Eevee’s Evolutions requires players to first complete ‘The Taste of Home’ quest, have a high friendship with Eevee in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and unlock the Basculegion surfing mount. Once players have met all three requirements, they can find Floaro of the Construction Corps to unlock the quest. Next, to complete the quest and earn a Rare Candy, players will need to find Umbreon on the second floor of Team Galactic HQ and feed it a Jubilife Muffin. Finally, to earn the Rare Candy reward from the quest ‘Rolling with Spheal,’ players will need to complete The Trial of Lake Acuity and find the NPC Senki near the Mountain Camp in Coronet Highlands where players can also get the Moon Stone in Legends Arceus. From there, players should follow the Spheal Pokémon rolling down the hill until it reaches the river.
