Turtwig is one of the rarest Pokémon available in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and players can find and catch this generation IV starter in the wild.
Players can find and catch Turtwig in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a Grass-type generation IV starter from Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is filled with an unlimited number of Pokémon living throughout the vast areas of the Hisui region, and Pokémon can oftentimes be seen surrounded by other members of their species. Turtwig, however, is huddled by itself in a corner of one of the earlier areas, and there are plenty of high-level Alpha Pokémon standing in the way.
Since Turtwig is a Grass-type, players will want to have a Fire-type like Cyndaquil in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in order to weaken the generation IV starter more easily. Alternatively, there are plenty of Yanma that can be found on the way to Turtwig that will work just as well. Yanma is a Bug- and Flying-type Pokémon, so using it against Turtwig will give players a dual-type advantage as they try to catch it.
Turtwig can be found in the Crimson Mirelands, tucked away in the southeast corner of the map that brings players directly past an Alpha Yanmega. To reach this location as soon as possible, players will need to start their way from the Mirelands Camp, then work their way down and around the Scarlet Bog, and then head north around Lake Valor. Be sure to collect more Tumblestones in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as the journey to Turtwig continues, and use the crafting material to make plenty of Great Balls or Heavy Balls to increase the odds of catching it.
Where To Find & Catch Turtwig in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
After reaching the east side of Lake Valor, continue heading south until the Droning Meadow has been reached. Turtwig will be wandering around by itself on the other side of a small pond, putting itself between the pond and the mountainside. The easiest way to catch Turtwig is by crouching down in the tall grass beside it, throwing a berry or Dazzling Honey, and when Trutwig’s back is turned use the Heavy Ball. With a bit of luck, players may even be able to find themselves a Shiny Turtwig in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Before catching Turtwig, players should play through the Pokémon Legends: Arceus story in the Crimson Mirelands to make sure some of their Pokémon are leveled up properly. While Turtwig can be found at or around level 17, the other Pokémon in the area can be found in the high 20s to low 30s level ranges. Be sure to catch the other Pokémon in Turtwig’s surrounding area to help complete the Pokédex more easily in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
