New Image Hints at Tobey Maguire Cameo in Doctor Strange 2

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to feature a host of cameos, and a new IG post suggests one of those could be Tobey Maguire.

Fans of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man have been hoping that that actor will be making another appearance in the MCU following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the belief that there is a lot more to come from the multiverse in the coming years. Thanks to one particular Instagram story, fans now have begun to wonder if that next appearance will be in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the next Marvel movie that will hit cinemas in May. The reason for the speculation is the IG story being scrutinized was posted by Mariana Torres, a name that will not probably be familiar to many Marvel fans, who is the actress that provides the Portuguese voice of Scarlet Witch in Marvel’s international releases. She shared an image with another actor that really set rumors flying.

The post, which was shared by Twitter account Spidey Updates, sees the actress with Manolo Rey, another actor who is linked to the MCU voice-overs as the Portuguese version of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. The image was captioned, “Good things are coming.” Of course, this is all many fans need to instantly believe that if these two are working together, that would suggest that both Maguire’s Peter Parker and Elisabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff must be sharing a movie, even if it is not screen time together. With Multiverse of Madness having recorded a number of cameo appearances to be used in the film from “variants,” then there is nothing to say that one of these will not be another appearance by Maguire.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness Could Have The Biggest List of Returning Marvel Actors Ever

Avengers: Endgame Doctor Strange Cameo That Almost Happened

The appearance of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men, along with several returning Spider-Man villains in No Way Home brought a mighty box office return for Marvel Studios, which is one reason that the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel is getting primed to bring even more “variants” of past characters to the screen than would probably be possible in any other movie.

So far the list of rumors has included the return of Ben Affleck as Daredevil and Tom Cruise as a more powerful variant of Tony Stark, as well as many others from the likes of X-Men, Fantastic Four and variants of current heroes such as Bruce Banner, Thor and of course Doctor Strange himself. How many of these rumors will turn out to be true is something we will not find out about until May, but in the mean, fans are going to continue to wildly speculate who could be appearing in the movie after comments of “additional cameos and introductions” being recorded as part of the recent re-shoots was revealed.

We know that Benedict Cumberbatch will be joined in the movie by Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong and Xochitl Gomez, but beyond that is a mystery, and Marvel will be making sure it stays that way. The first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness surprised everyone by appearing as the post-credit scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but we can likely expect a second one coming in the next couple of months, which will likely give just a little more of an idea of just how much of a fight Doctor Strange is going to have on his hands in the film.
