Cooking with Paris Gets Canceled at Netflix After One Season

Paris Hilton comes from a background of great success in reality television, but her latest venture as the star of a cooking show has already come to an end. Per Deadline, Netflix has given the boot to Hilton’s show Cooking with Paris, bringing it to an end after a six-episode run. The series premiered in August when it briefly made it into the streamer’s Top 10 rankings, but it would seem that there just weren’t enough viewers to order a second season.

Cooking with Paris featured Hilton taking on a variety of recipes, ranging from main dishes to various desserts. Several special guest stars were also brought in to cook with Hilton, such as Kim Kardashian West, Nikki Glaser, Demi Lovato, Saweetie, Lele Pons, and Kathy and Nicky Hilton. Paris served as the host for what was not at all your conventional cooking show as could be seen from the little things like Hilton using a diamond-encrusted spatula to flatten hamburger meat.

“It was so much fun,” Hilton said of reviving her reality television persona, per Mashed. “I feel that for a show like this, I wanted something that people could really enjoy, and laugh and smile, and just have a good time. Especially after everyone being in their houses and during this pandemic, I just feel like I wanted to do something that was really a lot of fun. And I definitely was feeling the Simple Life vibes when I was in the kitchen. Because I did feel like a fish-out-of-water just in that show, because I don’t really know how to cook. I knew how to cook lasagna, but nothing really else. And I don’t know the names of certain cooking utensils and things like that. So it was all very new to me.”

Hilton executive produced the series alongside Aaron Saidman, Eli Holzman, and Rebecca Hertz. Cooking with Paris was produced by Industrial Media’s The Intellectual Property Corporation.

Paris Hilton Puts On the ‘Dumb Blonde’ Act for Television

Famous for the way she’s depicted on reality television programming, Paris Hilton says there’s a side to her that the fans don’t see when the camera’s are rolling. She has since come out and said she oversells the “dumb blonde” act on TV to make her shows more interesting. As Hilton previously said, “This entire time, I have been playing a character, so the world has never truly known who I am… The real me is someone who is actually brilliant. I’m not a dumb blonde, I’m just really good at pretending to be one.”

These days, Hilton also hosts her own podcast. It debuted in February of last year in partnership with iHeartMedia and includes interviews with family, friends, and other celebrities. It is dubbed This Is Paris, the same name as a YouTube Originals documentary that lets fans learn more about the real life of the reality tv star.

There won’t be any new seasons coming, but for those who want to watch the six existing episodes of Cooking with Paris, you can find them streaming on Netflix.
